Xaverian wins second straight CHSAA B/Q bowling title against Molloy

Tom Agustino rolled a 246 and John Mosco had a 233 in the decisive second game to lead the Xaverian bowling team to a 3-2 win against Archbishop Molloy to win the CHSAA Brooklyn/Queens Diocesan championship for the second straight year Wednesday at Whitestone Lanes.

Lenny Nuciforo had a 209 and Keith Fiandia rolled a 205 in the monster second game that the Clippers won, 1,703-984. Molloy won the first game, 907-826, and ended up losing by eight pins.

Justin Gratta and Tom Wengler both rolled 225 in the second game and Steven Masillo had a 204 in the first game for the Stanners, who are the division’s perennial powerhouse.

The CHSAA city championships are Feb. 3 and Feb. 5 at Paradise Lanes in Yonkers.

The Xaverian junior varsity bowling team was also victorious against Molloy in the CHSAA Brooklyn/Queens Diocesan championship. The Clippers won, 5-0.
