Youths Pal around with cops for summer

Call it an NYPD play day.

Nearly 500 youngsters showed up at the Park Slope Playground bordered by Berkeley and Lincoln streets and Fifth and Sixth avenues recently to mark an end to summertime fun with the Police Athletic League (PAL).

Kids from age six to 13 enrolled in the PAL’s Play Streets and Day Camps throughout the borough participated in the fun filled event, which was chocked with activities including jumbo-sized board games, face painting, football, basketball, tug of war competitions and sack races.

Children also made presentations about an island they were assigned to explore as part of the PAL’s “Exploring the Caribbean” theme.
