Brooklyn Congresswoman Yvette D. Clarke received the “After-School Hero Award” from The After-School Corporation (TASC) and Global Kids for her successful fight to save 207 endangered after-school programs, and for her commitment to ensure that kids in New York have access to high quality after-school and summer programs.
She received her award during a rally at the High School for Global Citizenship in Brooklyn, 883 Classon Avenue, where students from four after-school programs celebrated Lights On Afterschool, a national rally to raise awareness of the value of after-school programs.
