Police in Brooklyn are searching for a hit-and-run driver who injured a mother and her child last month, authorities confirmed.
According to police sources, the 33-year-old mother was crossing East 16th Street and Quentin Road in Midwood with her 8-year-old son and daughter at around 4 p.m. on April 28 when the driver of a black sedan traveling southbound suddenly put the car in reverse.
Authorities said the driver ultimately struck the mother and daughter before speeding away toward Quentin Road.
EMS rushed the family to Maimonides Hospital where it was discovered the 8-year-old girl suffered a fractured arm while her mother complained of back pain. Her son was unharmed.
With the driver remains on the lam and refuses to come forward, the NYPD have released surveillance footage of the vehicle in hopes it will be recognized, leading to the arrest of the operator.
