For one night only next week, the august Brooklyn Academy of Music becomes an all-night rave.
It’s called “Takeover BAM,” and this late-night (or, more accurately, early morning) blowout on Sept. 27 features booze, DJs, bands, movies, a Wii game set-up, a lounge, and even ping pong.
Sufjan Stevens — you remember him from last year’s Takeover, when he rocked the house with his freaky musical tribute to the Brooklyn–Queens Expressway (yes, that Brooklyn–Queens Expressway!) — will curate this year’s festivities, which include a diverse array of acts such as video artist Deborah Johnson and the Grammy Award-winning Brooklyn Youth Chorus.
Several films will be screened as well, including the aptly themed 1977 hit “Saturday Night Fever.”
The Brooklyn Academy of Music’s extravaganza, which easily sold out last year, could become the hottest annual all-nighter around.
