The crew behind the tapas bar Zipi Zape has transformed their shop at the corner of Metropolitan Avenue and Berry Street into Barberry — a Mediterranean eatery
“We have been here five years, so we thought, ‘Why don’t we do a little change — something geared towards the neighborhood,” said owner Asu Whiteman, who kept the staff, including Chef Diego Gonzales, from the old eatery.
Look for appetizers including sardines (pictured), and a thinly sliced filet mignon with carpaccio served over toast with fresh manchego, artichokes, and a drizzle of lemon juice ($8). Entrees include a grilled platter for two with flank steak, chorizo, quail and filet mignon ($38).
