Police have arrested an 18-year-old in connection with a triple shooting that left one man dead in Bedford-Stuyvesant last month.

Ryan Nieves of Brownsville was cuffed on Tuesday and charged with murder, two counts of attempted murder, and two counts of robbery, according to the NYPD. Police are still investigating the crime.

Nieves allegedly shot three people at 987 Myrtle Ave., just outside the NYCHA Sumner Houses complex, at 5:12 p.m. on Sept. 30, according to police.

One 28-year-old victim sustained a gunshot wound to the stomach, one 32-year-old male sustained a gunshot wound to the lower back, and a second 28-year-old, Kyle Forde of Bedford-Stuyvesant, was shot in the head.

All victims were taken by EMS to NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County, where Forde was pronounced dead.

According to recent NYPD data, the 79th Precinct – which serves areas of northern Brooklyn including Bedford-Stuyvesant and Herbert Von King Park — has seen 10 murders so far this year, an increase of about 25% from last year’s reported 8 murders.

The precinct has also reported 171 robberies this year compared to the 152 reported robberies in 2022.
