Sheepshead Bay overflowed with marine merriment as spring revelers embraced the borough’s liquid jewel by heading for Bay Fest 2008.
The 16th annual celebration of the waterfront community – presented by the Bay Improvement Group (BIG) – drew mom, dad and the kids to enjoy a day of crowd-pleasing attractions and activities along Emmons Avenue, despite the rain.
Strolling performers, games, plus exhibits from the New York Aquarium and Brooklyn Children’s Museum, and an outdoor arts and crafts show kept the hordes happy.
In addition, local groups manned information booths, acquainting visitors with available services in the community.
Serenading the frolic from the main stage was a rainbow of live performers; among them, Girls on Top, The Bergen County Firefighters Pipe Band, featuring “The Shots” and the Vince Martell Band.
