The 28th Annual Brooklyn Columbus Day Parade will sponsor a brunch at 12 p.m., October 4 at Sirico’s, 8015 13th Avenue in the Bensonhurst section of Brooklyn.
The brunch will provide an intimate forum to honor the parade’s grand marshals, those individuals whose achievements and contributions to society exemplify those traits valued by the committee.
The 2009 Parade Grand Marshals being honored are Anthony W. Cromwell, counselor to the mayor and chairman of the board of the Brooklyn Public Library, and the Hon. Luigi R. Marano, former NYS assistant attorney general (1948-1956), former NYS assemblyman, and judge of the NYS Family Court.
Each year, the Federation of Italian Organizations of Brooklyn, along with numerous other organizations, sponsor the Brooklyn Columbus Day Parade, which will be held this year at 1 p.m., October 10 from 61st-84th streets along 18th Avenue.
Mass will be celebrates prior to the parade, 10 a.m. at St. Athanasius, 61st Street & Bay Parkway.
