Mailbox looter

A sticky-handed thief stole from a mailbox on 21st Avenue between Bath Avenue and Benson Avenue. 

According to police, the thief entered a gated area, opened a mailbox and stole mail which contained debit and credit cards at 12:10 a.m.

Strangled by a stranger

Some attacked a Bensonhurst man near 81 Street between 15th Avenue and 16th Avenue on Feb.27. 

The victim told police his attacker punched him in the face and then choked him, causing him to lose consciousness at 12:30 a.m.

Medical professionals treated the victim for his injuries at NYU Langone Hospital. 

Car raider

Someone stole items from a car near Bay Ridge Avenue and New Utrecht on Feb. 27. 

The victim told police he parked his car on the street and when he returned around 10 p.m. he noticed $2,000, his cellphone, vehicle registration and other items were missing. 

The victim said he locked the vehicle and wasn’t sure how the alleged thief got in. 

Apartment burglary

Someone broke into an apartment on Bay Parkway between 82nd Street and 83rd Street on March 2. 

According to police, the 74-year-old victim left the apartment at 3:20 p.m. He later noticed his front door lock was broken and the door was open. After looking around his home he noted $1500 and a mirror was missing. 

Stolen from gym locker

A thief stole items from a Crunch gym on Shore Parkway on Feb. 29.

Police said the victim left his bank cards and clothes in a locked locker at 5 p.m. When he came back later, the items valued at $360 were gone.
