Traditional lion, peacock and fan dances marked the fanfare during an Asian Pacific Heritage Festival at McKinley Park.
The sixth annual salute, hosted by state Senator Marty Golden, celebrated the borough’s deep-rooted Asian-Pacific community, drawing frolickers to the sprawling green at 75th Street and Fort Hamilton Parkway for a day of national pride.
Other crowd-pleasers included a martial arts demonstration, a showcase of Tourism Malaysia, arts and crafts, plus plenty of palate-pleasing food to feed the happy hordes.
The event was held, said Golden, to “celebrate the achievements and the success” of the Asian American community.
