A woman got into a violent tussle with a shopper at a Beard Street furniture store on March 2.
The 55-year-old victim told police that she was waiting in line to return some furniture at the store by Otsego Street at 12:48 pm when she and the stranger punched her in the back of the neck. The victim refused medical attention, and the attacker got away, police said.
Grand theft auto
Some sleezeball stole $17,500 worth of car parts from a car dealership on Van Brunt Street on March 3.
An employee told cops that the looter removed the catalytic converters from seven Isuzu trucks that were parked between Union and President streets sometime between 10 and 11 pm and ran off.
Sounds like a tool
A bandit nabbed $300 worth of tools from a Columbia street housing complex sometime between March 1 and March 2.
The victim told police that the burglar snuck into the building’s basement and stole a box containing a ruler, a screwdriver set, pliers, and a wrench among other items from the building on the corner of Lorraine Street sometime between 1 pm on March 1 and 1 am the following day.
Plate pirate
A scofflaw stole two license plates from a car parked on Centre Street on March 10.
The car’s owner said that thief removed the two New York license plates from the car parked by Hamilton Avenue at 9:30 am before making a run for it.
