Plate pirate
A thief stole a license plate off a Revel scooter on Henry Street on Oct. 6.
A Revel employee told police that the bandit nabbed the back plate from the moped parked near the corner of Huntington Street at 11:47 pm, but part of the plate remained bolted on.
A crappy job
Police cuffed a man for allegedly trying to steal three boxes of toilet paper from Columbia Street on Oct. 13.
A witness told police that she saw the suspect use a screwdriver and wire cutter to break into the apartment building by Warren Street at 2 am before placing three packages containing toilet paper and tissues into a shopping cart.
Police apprehended the defendant and charged him with burglary, criminal possession of burglary tools, criminal possession of stolen property, and criminal trespassing, according to police reports.
Citi bandit
A burglar rode off on a Citi Bike parked on Smith Street on Oct. 11.
The victim told police that she had left the bike propped outside a store near Butler Street at around 5:20 pm, but when she came back, the two-wheeler was gone.
Bike burglary
A thief nabbed two bikes from a Union Street apartment building sometime between Oct. 3 and Oct. 7.
The victim told police that the nogoodnik snagged a red bike worth $400 and a silver bike worth $445 from the hallway of her building between Clinton and Court Streets.
