A Dumbo bakery worker had their lip busted by a shoplifter stealing five loaves of bread on Dec. 10.
The 41-year-old worker at Tous Les Jour on York St. reported that the suspect entered the store at 10:30 a.m. and helped himself to five loaves of bread totaling $30. The worker said he attempted to stop the man from leaving the bakery without paying but was punched in the face.
The victim refused medical treatment for a busted lip, according to cops who have yet to identify the suspect.
Sinister subway slashing
Cops arrested a 62-year-old man on Dec. 9 after he allegedly poured bleach over a sleeping straphanger before slashing him with a knife at a Boerum Hill subway station.
According to the 47-year-old victim, he was lying on a bench inside the Pacific St. and 4th Ave. station shortly before 2 a.m. when a stranger poured bleach over him. After getting up to confront the suspect, the man proceeded to slash the victim across the forehead with a gravity knife.
EMS took the victim to Methodist Hospital for further evaluation while responding officers arrested the 62-year-old suspect at the scene. Cops said they recovered the knife in one of the suspect’s pockets.
Garbage goons
A Dumbo man was robbed of his car key by three men as he took out his trash on Dec. 9.
The 61-year-old victim told cops he was taking his recycling out at 9 p.m. near the intersection of Bridge St. and York St. when three men approached him. He said one of the men, wearing red pajama pants, pulled out a knife and poked him in the side as he demanded the victim’s car keys.
The victim said he handed over his keys and escaped the robbery without injury. Cops are reviewing nearby cameras to catch the culprits.
