Spousal terror
Some wretch choked his girlfriend at their Clinton Avenue apartment on March 31.
The victim told police that her beau grabbed her, threw her in the hallway and punched her near Willoughby Avenue at 11:30 pm, before choking her and threatening to kill her.
Busted brute
Cops arrested a man they say beat and choked his girlfriend on N. Portland Avenue on April 2.
The victim told police that the couple got into a war of words near N. Oxford Walk at 6:20 am, before the suspect allegedly grabbed her by the throat and hit her.
Cops arrived at the scene just before 7 am and arrested the man on felony assault charges, according to police reports.
Unchecked crime
A check fraudster stole more than $4,500 from a Prince Street man between Jan. 25-March 22.
The victim told cops that, at Fleet Place and between 8 am on the first date and noon on the second, he mailed a check for his business, but when he checked his account he noticed that some huckster had intercepted it and duplicated it to pay out $4,524.
Copy cat
Some swindler stole more than $400 using a copied card at an Ashland Place bank machine on March 30.
The victim told police that, between Fulton Street and Dekalb Avenue around noon, some scammer withdrew $443 with a phony card.
