Dyker Heights

Standing O is wishing Brooklyn native Vincenza Sarrica a very happy 100th birthday. The borough centenarian celebrated her milestone birthday at Sirico’s Caterers in Dyker Heights on May 12 with family and friends attending.

Amid the cake, the balloons and fantastic food, baby bro Gianni Palumbo, 84, was on hand to celebrate with his big sis, as well as son Frank and daughter-in-law Lina. Vincenza also received a special benediction from Fr. Guy Sbordone, pastor at St. Frances Cabrini parish, which honored her special day.

Come to the Pantry

Come one, come all — community residents are invited to a weekly food distribution at the Beth Aaron Synagogue.

Let’s face it, times are hard for all, so the congregation at Beth Aaron Synagogue is helping to serve the needs of the Bay community by hosting a much-needed food pantry.

It’s open every Wednesday from 11 am to 1 pm (or thereabouts), and is open to all.

Maybe you don’t need to receive — your lips to You-know-who’s ears — but you have a desire to donate, so be a mensch and donate!

Any questions, Rabbi Sorcher has the 411.

Move over the tassel

Huzza, huzza to borough son Brian Ghezelaiagh on his graduation from the State University of New York Downstate, College of Medicine.

We all know medical school is a tough nut to crack, but this Standing O pal had one more obstacle than the norm to overcome — he was born legally blind.

With dedication, courage, and a whole lot of determination, this doc-to-be aced his studies and will be embarking on a career in psychiatry.

Standing O wishes Brian much success in his career.
