A crime in Limbaugh

Drug rush

A man robbed a Fourth Avenue drugstore of more than $10,000 in prescription drugs on Feb. 2.

The on-duty employee of the drugstore, which is between 92nd and 93rd streets, told police that the suspect walked up to the pharmacy counter at around 10:30 am, pointed a gun at her and demanded OxyContin 80, a medication popular with pain sufferers and Rush Limbaugh.

The employee obliged, filling a black sack with between 15 and 20 bottles of the so-called “Hillbilly Heroin,” and the suspect fled.

Break-in spree

At least two neighborhood homes were robbed in separate incidents last week. Here’s the roundup:

• A 71st Street home was ransacked for $7,000 on Feb. 6. The 50-year-old victim told police that he left the house, which is between 12th and 13th avenues, at around 12:45 pm. When he returned just 20 minutes later, the cash was missing from inside.

• A thief stole nearly $3,000 in jewelry and gadgets from a 13th Avenue apartment on Feb. 6. The 40-year-old victim told police she left her home, between 62nd and 63rd streets, at around 9:30 am and returned at 4 pm to find her front door wide open and a digital camera and $2,500 necklace gone.
