Children bounced in the “Dead Sea” and visited a “kibbutz” right on Nostrand Avenue when the Kings Bay Y held its annual Israel celebration in honor of the Land of Milk and Honey’s 60th birthday.
Visitors flocked to the stretch between Avenues U and V, where they enjoyed a cornucopia of crowd-pleasing attractions and amusements, designed to delight national pride through a showcase of all things Israeli; among them, live music and dancing, a display about the achievements of its citizens, carnival rides, named after the biblical salt lake, plus a petting zoo modeled after a kibbutz.
An Israeli marketplace, with vendors hawking everything from Judaica to Israeli food completed the revel.
