A man with $2,000 cash in his fist, was victimized by a swindler’s twist

A miscreant swindled a Bay 22nd Street resident out of $2,000 on Nov. 22 when he promised the job-seeker money after he handed over the two grand, according to police.

The man, who lives between 86th Street and Benson Avenue, was looking for a job online when the perp contacted him through a message saying that he would give him money if he deposited a check he sent into his account and then sent the cash to Armenia via Moneygram. The man deposited the check, which he thought was valued at almost $2,300, and then withdrew $2,000 in cash, which he sent via Moneygram. But his bank later told the man that the check was fake, and that he lost the $2,000 for good.

No pane, no gain

A no-goodnik broke into a man’s car parked on the corner of 17th Avenue on Nov. 22nd by removing the rear passenger side window and stole a debit card, which he then used twice, according to police.

The car was parked at the corner of 80th Street, and the thief broke in around 4 am, according to the report. Police are reviewing cameras in the area.

Brotherly hate

A punk punched his sister in the face causing swelling to her left eye before he stole $100 from her 79th Street bedroom on Nov. 23, cops said.

The lout walked into his sister’s room in the house, between 21st Avenue and Bay Parkway, just before 9 pm, and demanded money. When she refused, he punched her in the face, grabbed the cash and ran.

Left purse, took cash

A punk entered a Cropsey Avenue apartment through the front door and stole a purse with $95 inside on Nov. 24.

The purse owner said she heard the front door open and close just before 1:30 pm at the home between 24th Avenue and Bay 37th Street and then found that her purse was gone went she went to check on it. The no-goodnik fled through the stairwell after he stole the bag, and left it on the 16th floor with the cash missing. Police are reviewing cameras in the area.

Unexpected delivery

A miscreant threatened a deliveryman with a gun before stealing $250, his cell phone and driver’s license at 18th Avenue on Nov. 24, police said.

The pizza deliveryman had just delivered a pie to a house on 74th Street when the man approached him and asked if he was a “delivery guy.” He then flashed a gun, grabbed the goods and ran. Police are reviewing cameras in the area.

Lock it up!

A miscreant stole a man’s 2016 Mazda from its 66th Street parking spot on Nov. 25 when the man parked it outside a store and left it unlocked with the engine running. The man parked the car at the corner of Bay Parkway just before 5 pm, when the perp got in the car and fled towards Avenue O. Police are reviewing cameras in the area.

Snatch and run

A good-for-nothing stole a woman’s purse with her credit and debit cards inside at an 86th Street store on Nov. 25.

The woman accidentally left her purse on the table of the store between 23rd Avenue and Bay 32nd Street just before 10 pm, according to the report. When she returned later, the purse was gone, police said. Police are reviewing cameras in the area.

Shopping spree

A lout stole a woman’s wallet from her handbag in her child’s stroller when she was shopping at a Bay Parkway store on Nov. 25.

The perp took the wallet, which contained credit cards, from the handbag inside the store near Bay and Shore parkways at around 12:30 pm before she charged $313 to the credit card at an Avenue U store in Marine Park.
