Party pooper
A woman partying at Steiner Studios in the Brooklyn Navy Yard lost half a G when the festivities took her up to the roof, but her wallet stayed downstairs on the night of Sept. 17–18.
The 27-year-old victim told police that, like many other revelers at the soiree in the TV and film studio on Washington Avenue inside the Navy Yard complex, she left her bag unattended at 10 pm. Unlike the rest of the parties, when she retrieved her purse, it was missing $500.
In the bag
Police busted several shoplifters targeting chain stores at the Atlantic Center and Terminal malls last week.
Police nabbed a duo in department store on Flatbush Avenue on Sept. 17 after a store employee tracked the thieves for two hours.
According to the 22-year-old worker, the greedy team of a 48-year-old woman and a 28-year-old man, filled sacks with perfume, makeup, 11 watches, women’s underwear, a blouse and a workout outfit from 3:50 until 6 pm, when they tried to leave the store without paying.
The following day, police cuffed a man looting a clothing retailer on in the adjacent Atlantic Center on Atlantic Avenue.
The 42-year-old suspect allegedly purloined 82 shirts and pairs of pants at 1 pm.
Rude awakening
A man chased two burglars from his Clinton Avenue apartment in the wee hours of Sept. 15, but could not stop them from stealing a few items.
The intruders’ footsteps woke the man at 2:55 am. He threw on a pair of shorts, located the prowlers and began screaming at them. The ruckus caused them to flee the building between Myrtle and Park avenues, but they didn’t go empty-handed. The 41-year-old victim reported losing a video camera, $6 and some banking and credit cards.
Kodachrome away
A thief stole an instant camera from a plumber’s truck parked at the corner of Vanderbilt and Park avenues on Sept. 16.
One of the company’s workers spotted the man, fleeing from the cab, with a screwdriver in hand at 8:30 pm.
Big-ticket items
Raiders stole everything but the kitchen sink on Adelphi Street overnight on Sept. 18.
A worker arrived at 8:30 am on Sept. 19 to find that three stoves and one refrigerator had been hauled from a business in a residential building between Park and Myrtle avenues. The victim told police something was askew when he showed up because the front door, closed, but unlocked. His co-worker told police he left at 1 pm the day before.
