Thug snatch

A thief grabbed a woman’s purse on Fourth Avenue on March 9, snatching her cash and cards after a brief struggle.

The victim told cops that she was near 10th Street at around 12:15 am when a man came up from behind and said, “Let it go or I’ll punch you.”

She didn’t listen to the demand, and the pair briefly struggled over the purse before the thief got it.

Burg watch

A thief broke into a Union Street apartment on March 13 and got away with a computer.

The tenant returned at 5 pm to find that her front door had been damaged and her MacBook was gone from the apartment, which is between Sixth and Seventh avenues.

Car thefts

At least two vehicles were swiped last week. Here’s a round-up:

• A thief nabbed a Ford van from Eighth Avenue on March 9. The owner told cops that he had parked the van between St. Johns and Lincoln places at around 8 am, but it was gone when he returned to it at around 9 pm.

• That most desirable of wheels — a 1993 Honda Civic — was lifted from Sixth Avenue overnight on March 3. The owner of the bucket of bolts told cops that she had parked it between Carroll Street and Garfield Place at around 8 pm on March 2, but it was gone the next morning.
