Action-packed gas station heist in Williamsburg

90th Precinct

Southside–Williamsburg

Trapped at the gas station

A pair of brazen bandits locked a Metropolitan Avenue gas station attendant in his store and then tore apart an automatic teller machine to get to the cash inside on Sept. 25, cops said.

The clerk said the dastardly duo drove up to the gas station between Varick and Stewart avenues at 11:58 pm, jumped out, and pulled the metal security gate down over the door, trapping the worker inside.

The treacherous twosome then hooked a chain to the security door of the cash machine, connected to the other end to their white 1998 Plymouth Voyager, and floored it until they ripped the cash machine wide open, according to a police report.

The land pirates concluded the dramatic heist by stuffing their car with cash and peeling off, officers said. Police have the vehicle identification and license-plate numbers and are hot on the scent, they say.

Calling foul

A scoundrel followed a teenager off the J train at Marcy Avenue, threw her to the ground, and stole her phone on Sept. 27, cops said.

The victim reported she exited the train at station at 8:30 pm and started walking towards her house. At Broadway and Marcy Avenue, a goon she had seen on the train threw her to the ground, grabbed her phone out of her hand, and vamoosed, according to police.

Express checkout

A prowler broke into a Flushing Avenue grocery store and stole cash out of the registers on Sept. 24, officers said.

The owner of the market between Bedford and Nostrand avenues reported that the thief forced his way in through a rear door to the store at 5 pm.

The burglar snuck up to the front of the store, forced open two of the registers, and made off with $600, Police Department officials said.

No manners

A lousy house-guest ripped off an acquaintance who invited him to hang out in his Scholes Street apartment on Sept. 27, according to the authorities.

The 28-year-old victim said that he was on the sidewalk in front of his pad between Humboldt Street and Bushwick Avenue at 10 pm when a guy he sort of knew stopped to chat with him. The victim invited the man into his apartment to listen to some music and have some drinks, a report states.

The victim passed out a while later, and when he woke up, he found his JBL speakers, iPhone, iPad, laptop, wallet, credit card, driver’s license, and $600 in cash, all taken.

Under their umbrella

A group of bullies beat a woman with an umbrella and tried to steal her purse on Lynch Street on Sept. 25, officers said.

The 29-year-old victim said that she was between Lee and Marcy avenues at 3:40 pm when a scoundrel hit her over the head with an umbrella. The belligerent group she was with tried to grab the victim’s purse, but she fought them off and they ran away, cops said.

Quiet as it’s kept

Someone stabbed an 18-year-old man in the stomach on Graham Avenue on Sept. 24 — and he refused to say who did it, according to a police report.

Police said the victim’s friend carried him to Woodhull Medical Center at 3:10 pm and he told police that he had been stabbed between Moore and Siegel streets, but he refused to finger the culprit.
