Brooklyn-based non-profit organization Transdiaspora Network, Inc. (TDN) celebrates its official launch with an Afro-Caribbean benefit concert at Williamsburg’s Rose Live Music, June 12 from 6-8 p.m.. The benefit features a free raffle and a performance by Cuban-born jazz legend and newest TDN board member Yosvany Terry.
The benefit will send an urgent reminder to the Brooklyn community and its youngest population about the importance of being more proactive on HIV prevention.
Percussionist Yosvany Terry will perform Ye-dé-bgé and the Afro-Caribbean Legacy, a composition commissioned by the Stanford Jazz Workshop, that had its world debut last fall.
Rose Live Music is at 345 Grand Street. Benefit tickets may be purchased online at www.transdiasporanetwork.org for $50. They must be reserved in advance.
