So, now we know some of what Dom Recchia got in return for screwing over Staten Islanders when he voted for congestion pricing.
Bloomberg has suddenly flip-flopped on the issue of allowing Recchia’s buddy Joe Sitt, of Thor Equities, to build hotels in Coney Island. The mayor, previously, refused to have hotels built there.
Bottom line: Recchia wants Staten Islanders and Brooklynites to pay a heavy tax each time they must drive into the city so his buddy Joe Sitt can build hotels and destroy Coney – it is a win-win for Dom.
Screwing over neighborhoods by siding with greedy developers is just another hard day of work for Dom Recchia.
