Millenial nostalgia is about to hit its nadir with a ’90s-themed festival slated to take place on the Williamsburg waterfront later this year.
The lineup for ’90s Fest, which will hit 50 Kent on Sept. 12, is a mishmash of one-hit wonders from the decade that fashion forgot, including the bread-averse bros of Smash Mouth, bespectacled songstress Lisa Loeb, and culinary enthusiast Coolio. It also promises alt-rockers Blind Melon a full 20 years after lead singer Shannon Hoon’s untimely death (who is singing now — the bee girl?), and a “surprise act” (“>Marcy Playground? 4 Non Blonds? Crash Test Dummies? Chumbawumba?).

No Doubt, “Just a Girl”
The song that put Gwen Stefani and women in undershirts and bindis on the map.
They Might Be Giants, “Birdhouse in Your Soul”
These Brooklyn originals play the borough all the time, but we just can’t get enough.

Mike Patton’s most radio-friendly hit capitalized on the popular rap and metal hybrids that were popping up all over the airwaves (remember airwaves?).

Has there ever been a lyric more ’90s-cynical than, “Been around the world and found that only stupid people are breeding?”
Everclear, “Santa Monica”
Heroin-pop-chic was a real thing in the ’90s.
Digable Planets, “Rebirth of Slick (Cool Like Dat)”
These Brooklynites caused hordes of ’90s kids to raid their parents’ record collection for jazz tunes.
The Mighty Mighty Bosstones “The Impression That I Get”
Back when skanking was all the rage — again — the Bosstones took the underground ska-punk movement and made it MTV-friendly.
