A man accused of being a sticky-fingered thief ended up stuck in a jail cell Monday after he ran into a wall of police officers at the corner of Avenue Z and East 17th Street, officials said. Eight police officers were called to grab and handcuff the man, after he allegedly swiped an item from a nearby store on the afternoon of Oct. 27, according to witnesses at the scene. Cops carted the man off to the 61st Precinct without incident. Charges against him were pending as this paper went to press.
