If you love freedom, thank a vet.
America’s war heroes – past and present – were delivered a tall salute of gratitude when a local house of worship and a trinity of area groups hailed their heroism with a tribute breakfast in Bay Ridge.
The repast, held at St. John’s Episcopal Church, also as the ‘Church of Generals,’ 9818 Fort Hamilton Parkway, was a “small gesture of thanks” to the men and women of the US Armed Forces, and “a reminder to all Americans that the precious freedom and security we enjoy, today, came with sacrifice and cost,” said Andrew Windsor, president of the Bay Ridge Rod & Gun Club, which co−sponsored the tribute in conjunction with the Dyker Heights Civic Association, the Men’s Club of Bay Ridge and the Bay Ridge law firm of Connors & Sullivan.
