Amnesia Supper Club helps provide memorable Xmas for kids in need

Big-hearted staff and patrons at Amnesia Supper Club in Bay Ridge made sure children in need had an unforgettable Christmas Day when they teamed up with one of the nation’s largest good Samaritan organizations for a toy drive.

Customers at the Brazilian churrascaria on 100th Street and Fourth Avenue received a free cocktail when they brought a toy for the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, whose representatives were on hand to collect the gifts, which will be added to national stockpiles and distributed to underprivileged families over the holidays.

Bitter cold weather dampened the flow of customers, said manager Charles Atiles, but the Marines were more than happy with the results of the drive, which coincided with the steakhouse’s brunch launch.

“They told us that every toy matters, and that every toy received is one that a child gets for Christmas,” said Atiles.

Amnesia will continue the toy drive until Christmas, said Atiles, so get wrappin’.
