Annual Chris Hoban run

The 20th Annual Police Officer Christopher Hoban Five-Mile Memorial Run will be held September 21, 10:30 a.m. at Xaverian High School, 7100 Shore Road in Bay Ridge.

The event involves a five-mile run in memory of Police Officer Chris Hoban; a One-Mile Funny Hat Health Walk in memory of Tina Hoban; and pee wee runs for the kids. A post race barbecue includes music, food and beverages, children’s activities, awards and raffles.

Police Officer Hoban was killed October 18, 1988 during an undercover buy and bust operation in Upper Manhattan.

The entry fee for the five-mile run, pee wee runs, and Tina Hoban Hat Walk is $15; $20 on the day of the race. The entry fee for students is $10 and for the pee wee runs, the entry fee is $7.

Not up for a five-mile run? Come on down for delicious barbecue, beverages, and entertainment courtesy of DJ “Tommy Tunes” and the live music of “Head Over Heels.”

All proceeds benefit the Hoban Scholarship Fund, which provides tuition assistance for sons of New York City police officers attending Xaverian.
