Heart-smart clients of the Block Institute shared their trips for personal well-being during a community health fair in Bensonhurst.
The fifth annual “Circle of Life” health fair drew visitors to the headquarters of the agency, 2214 Stillwell Avenue, which serves the developmentally-delayed and their families, where they received the lowdown on how to achieve a healthy lifestyle from industry workers, and others in health-related organizations.
In addition, the Block Institute received donations of $2,000 from All State Insurance, and $1,000 from M & N Transportation, Inc., a private school-bus company.
The occasion also served to announce winners of a children’s art contest, entitled, “What do you do each day to stay healthy?”
The winners, who received Toys R’ Us gift certificates, were: Fifth graders Derek Tsui and Tiffany Dang, Public School 212, 87 Bay 49th Street, who were awarded first and second place, respectively; and Block Institute pre-kindergarten students Andrea Valiente, who clinched third place, and Jayson Marino, who came in fourth.
