Child abuse
A gang of five masked thugs beat and robbed an 11-year-old while he walked home from school on Dec. 11.
The vicious hoodlums — who the victim described as teens dressed in all black — pummeled the youth as he walked down Gerry Street at around 5:45 pm. After the assault, the crooks grabbed the victim’s backpack, which contained only schoolwork, and fled from the block between Throop Avenue and Broadway.
Blowout sale
A bizarre burglar threatened to blow up a Grand Street sneaker shop on Dec. 12 if an employee didn’t fork over some cash.
The crook — who wore yellow latex gloves during the heist — asked a question about a pair of shoes at around 2:35 pm before handing the cashier a note stating: “This is a stick up, I have explosives in the bag.”
The cashier at the shop, which is between Graham Avenue and Humboldt Street, gave the perp $200, and the robber fled.
On a Meserole
Burglars broke into two apartments in the same building on Meserole Street between Leonard Street and Manhattan Avenue on Dec. 10, heisting as many valuables as they could carry.
• The burglars pried open the front door of one apartment between 10:30 am and 5:30 pm and grabbed a Sharp television, an Apple desktop and its LCD monitor, an iPod, a hotel comforter, a Yamaha case, and $40.
• Then, between 11 am and 11:50 pm, the thieves scurried across the roof to break into an adjacent apartment, grabbing a Sony laptop, six pairs of earrings, two necklaces and a ring.
Computer thug
Crooks forced their way through the front door of a Graham Avenue apartment on Dec. 10 and snatched two laptops and a Playstation 2.
The burglars got into the apartment, which is between Cook and Varet streets, between 9 am and 7 pm — while all three residents were at work. Once inside, the burglars grabbed an Apple laptop, a Dell laptop, and the game console before fleeing.
Deliverance
Criminals heisted a delivery driver’s van while he dropped off his cargo on Bedford Avenue on Dec. 10.
The thugs hopped into the Ford Econoline, which belongs to a neighborhood tile company, at around 12:40 pm and sped off from the spot, which was between Morton and Clymer streets. The crooks escaped with the van, a satellite-guided digital map system, and ceramic and glass tiles valued at $7,000.
Taxi taxed
Crooks broke into a cab early on Dec. 9 and snatched the driver’s radio, credit cards, IDs, and green card.
The thugs smashed the passenger-side window of the black livery cab between midnight and 8 am and grabbed the goods from the taxi, which was parked on Graham Avenue between McKibben and Boerum streets.
