Cops last week arrested a suspect in the brutal knife attack of a restaurant deliveryman.
Zheng Hai Qing, 31, was charged with attempted murder, assault and criminal possession of a weapon for the May 5th stabbing of 26-year-old Guang Zheng.
According to reports, Qing confessed to the stabbing. He was arrested May 8.
The incident was reportedly spurred by jealousy: The deliveryman was allegedly having an affair with Qing’s wife.
The infidelity allegedly enraged Qing.
On May 5, cops responded to a 911 call of a man with multiple stab wounds at East 16th Street near Avenue W.
The deliveryman was brought to Lutheran Medical Center, where at press time he remained in critical condition.
The victim was lured to a fake address on East 16th Street, where he thought he was delivering two California rolls and two eel rolls, it was reported.
At around 10 p.m. Qing allegedly attacked Zheng, stabbing him in the chest and back.
According to a report, it is unclear if Qing placed the phony order, as the call was made from a cell phone that did not belong to him.
According to officials, Zheng was employed by Ginza Japanese restaurant on Ocean Avenue, working there six days a week.
