Arrest in Moore St. shooting

One of the men allegedly involved in a Williamsburg gunfight that led to the death of an innocent bystander has been arrested.

Police said that Terrance Villanueva, 24, of Amboy Street in Bedford−Stuyvesant. has been arrested in connection with the murder of 44−year−old Jesselle Page, who was shot while she sat on a bench outside her Moore Street home with her nephew.

Horrified witnesses told police that Page was enjoying the evening when a gunfight broke out near the corner of Moore Street and Bushwick Avenue.

As the 24−year−old gunman and his unidentified opponent traded shots, Villanueva fired wildly, striking Page in the chest, officials alleged.

Paramedics rushed Page to Woodhull Hospital, where she died of her injuries.

By late Saturday, cops had tracked down and apprehended Villanueva, who was charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon.

This is the second shooting death to take place in Williamsburg in the last two weeks.

On June 28, 29−year−old Raul Rosa was shot in the lower back outside a nightclub on Montrose Avenue near Lorimer Street.

Friends and family members said that Rosa was trying to break up a fight outside the club at 2 a.m. when someone shot him in the lower back.

Witnesses rushed him to the hospital, where he died of his injuries.

Cops are asking anyone with information regarding this incident to come forward.
