Sleeping men lie
A man feigning to be asleep at the entrance to the C train on Fulton Street attacked a woman entering the subway on Nov. 30.
In a flash, the apparently dozing derelict sneaked behind the woman, put her in a headlock, punched her in the face and took her purse in the 9:30 am attack. When the perp fled, the resilient woman chased him, but he ended up punching her again before getting away from the station at Washington Avenue.
She reported losing her wallet, ID and various bank and credit cards.
Holed up
The owner of a Myrtle Avenue doughnut shop, a man who has made his living off of holes, discovered that a burglar had cut an opening in the ceiling of his restaurant overnight on Nov. 26.
The 70-year-old owner of the greasy spoon between Hall and Ryerson streets entered at 2:15 am — time to make the doughnuts — and discovered a gaping hole in the ceiling above the dining area. He also found a tool kit, backpack and some clothing — perhaps indicating that the intruder fled moments before being detected.
The police report did not mention any missing property.
Hell on wheels
Two bicycle-riding hooligans hit and robbed a man on Washington Avenue on Nov. 28.
The 41-year-old victim told police the villains socked him in the face, causing a cut above his right eye, and then snatched his guitar, phone and wallet on the block between Flushing and Park avenues at 3 am.
Ranger nicked
Hoodlums broke into a Parks Department car and stole the park ranger’s law-enforcement equipment on South Oxford Street between Lafayette and Greene avenues on Nov. 29.
The 25-year-old urban ranger said she returned to her Ford Expedition at 12:15 pm to find that the front door had been broken and her bullet-proof vest, handcuffs, Mace, radio, phone and other accessories missing.
Masked attack
Two masked men — one claiming to be toting a gun — robbed a woman outside her South Oxford Street home early on Nov. 29.
The 23-year-old lass was near her front door between DeKalb and Lafayette avenues at 3:40 am when the disguised attackers seized her and demanded money. The victim promptly surrendered $90, her phone and various credit cards.
Piping hot lead
A mugger shot a pizza deliveryman and his friend in the Ingersoll Houses on Nov. 24.
The thug brandished a firearm on Monument Walk at 4:40 pm and demanded that the victims hand over their money and the pizza, but the pie-slinger’s friend tried to punch the mugger. Still armed, the gunman opened fire in the public housing development between Myrtle and Park avenues, hitting the friend several times and the deliveryman once before fleeing with $65, a cellphone, a necklace and bracelet.
Caught red-handed
Police arrested two women caught shoplifting in the Atlantic Terminal Mall on Flatbush Avenue on Nov. 30.
The 19- and 29-year-old thieves were caught taking dozens of “baby items, clothing, electronics and miscellaneous” — products with a retail value of $1,970 — at 7:30 pm from a department store between Hanson Place and Atlantic Avenue.
