Cops have cuffed four men they say brutally beat and murdered a man in Bath Beach this past June.
Authorities charged three 17-year-olds with gang assault, and a fourth with gang assault and murder, on Oct. 8, in the fatal stabbing of Kenny Chen on 26th Avenue.
Police responding to a 911 call in the early hours of June 9 discovered Chen, beaten unconscious and with a stab wound to the chest, in the rear of a building between Benson and Bath avenues. An ambulance brought the 17-year-old victim to Coney Island Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities allege that Peter Sedeno of Queens, Daine Daley of Queens, Dayshawn Young of Gravesend, and Daquan Jackson of Middletown, NY, punched and kicked Chen. Police say Sedeno confessed in custody to then pulling a knife and fatally stabbing Chen.
But Sedeno’s attorney denied that his client had admitted to committing the crime.
“We don’t accept that version,” said lawyer Wayne Bodden. “That’s definitely not what he told them.”
Bodden declined to comment further. Sedeno alone is charged with unpremeditated murder and attempted gang assault. Each of the rest of the teens faces two charges of gang assault, all felonies. Attorneys for Daley and Young declined to comment on the charges, and Jackson’s lawyer did not respond to repeated calls.
