Hurricane Irene didn’t pack quite the punch that was predicted, but it still did plenty of damage in Brooklyn, including downed trees, flooded streets, and wide-scale power outages, which most-certainly affected our editor.
We’ll have photos and updates regarding the storm throughout the day, plus our columnists take on other things (they have a very early deadline), so check back soon.

RAMPING IT UP: A tree fell on Pearson Street between Avenues U and T, ripping up the sidewalk and trapping some people inside their homes. Police cordoned off the sidewalk, presumably to ensure kids on bikes don’t use the angled cement as a ramp.

TREE-SON!: Cathy Mutterperl was practically trapped in her house on Pearson Street between Avenues U and T because of a fallen tree. She told us city workers removed the behemoth late Sunday night, working from 11 pm until 2 am.
