Hudson Valley 9
Cyclones 0
June 29 at Hudson Valley
Four Cyclones’ pitchers combined to walk eight batters and allowed nine runs to the Hudson Valley Renegades on the way to Brooklyn’s most lopsided loss —and second shutout — of the season.
The Clones’ batting wasn’t much better, as the anemic offense saw six strike outs. Shortstop Gavin Cecchini was the lone bright spot for Brooklyn’s Boys of Summer, going 3–4.
But manager Rich Donelly said the horrible pitching was the reason for the loss.
“Pitching sets the tone for the whole game, and ours was really bad.” Donnelly said.
Brooklyn will seek to take two of three in the set from Hudson Valley in today’s game in Wappingers Falls.
