Wheely bad robbery
A bandit stole an electric bicycle on Flatbush Avenue on May 19.
The perp broke the chain that was securing the bike between Avenues H and I sometime between 4 a.m. and 3 p.m. and rode off, according to police.
Banking bandit
A swindler charged $1,400 to a Royce Street woman’s credit card on May 22.
The victim, who lives between Avenues T and U, told officers she received a message from her bank regarding suspicious activity on the card, which she then realized she was missing from her wallet. The perp made several unauthorized charges before she canceled the card at around 5:30 p.m., cops said.
Caught shoplifting
Cops cuffed a man for allegedly shoplifting at an Avenue U hardware store on May 23.
The suspect allegedly placed several items in his bag, before attempting to leave the store between E. 55th and E. 58th streets, cops said.
Store security stopped the man, and cops arrested him 30 minutes later, according to police.
Check it out
A scammer changed the information on a check stolen from an E. 58th Street man, and cashed it on May 10.
The victim, who lives between Avenues U and T, had mailed a check for $28.36, but the intended recipient never received it, he told police. The baddie stole the check out of the mail, changed the information, and deposited it in their bank account for $3,000, cops said.
Check trickster
A con artist forged and cashed a check stolen from an Avenue V woman on May 1.
The woman had written a check for $101, but the weasel stole it and cashed the check for $5,560 at an unknown bank, authorities reported.
Car pirate
A thief looted a car parked on Avenue N on May 19.
The baddie broke into the unlocked vehicle, which was parked between E. 72nd and Royce streets, and stole a computer, headphones, and a backpack sometime between 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., cops said.
