A 70-year-old man leapt to his death from an eight-story balcony in Bath Beach on May 9.

The senior jumped from the terrace of the Contello Towers apartment building on Shore Parkway near Bay 46th Street at 11:30 am, said police.

Emergency responders pronounced the man dead on the scene. Police had to restrain one of the man’s distraught sons who tried to lift the white sheet covering his father’s body, according eyewitnesses.

A white step ladder was discovered on the balcony of the victim’s apartment, officials said.
