A man broke into an 86th Street house and attempted to climb into bed with an unsuspecting woman at night on May 18.
The 25-year-old victim was asleep in the basement of the house, which is between 11th and 12th avenues, when she was awakened by a man who put his finger to her lips — the universal sign to keep quiet — and started to climb into the bed.
The victim screamed, and her mother came downstairs and pushed the suspect, who then ran out.
Gun mug
A man was cornered and robbed while walking down 67th Street on May 16.
The 18-year-old victim was between 11th and 12th avenues when two men approached from behind and one, who appeared to be holding a gun underneath his sweatshirt, threatened, “Give me your money or I will shoot you.” The second suspect reached into the teenager’s pockets and grabbed his iPod and wallet. The two thugs fled toward 12th Avenue.
Purse grab
Someone snatched a woman’s purse from her Fourth Avenue office on May 15.
The 42-year-old victim said that when she got to her office, which is between 69th and 70th streets, at around noon, she placed her purse in an unlocked locker. When she came back for it about 12 hours later, it was gone.
The thief got more than $100 and the woman’s credit and debit cards.
