Bensonhurst rapist sought

The perverted predator responsible for three Brooklyn rapes may have cut his teeth on the streets of Bensonhurst, police said.

Investigators have now linked the chubby-cheeked, sallow-eyed thug wanted for two attempted rapes in Fort Greene to a similar attack on New Utrecht Avenue on Jan. 9.

His victim, a 28-year-old woman, was approaching 63rd Street at 2 am when the thug grabbed her and threw her against a fence.

“She was walking home from a train station when he accosted and tried to rape her,” a 62nd Precinct source familiar with the case said.

The thug slapped his victim in the face and exposed himself as he tried to pull her panties down, but the woman successfully fought the fiend off.

Before leaving the area, the attacker was caught on a surveillance video slinging what appears to be a laptop bag over his shoulder -— as if he himself was returning from work at that late hour.

The Jan. 9 attack was treated as an isolated incident for about a week and a half, when the suspect grabbed a 25-year-old woman on Jan. 19 near the corner of St. Felix Street and Hanson Place.

This time, he grabbed his victim from behind at 1:15 am and tried to rip off her clothes, but, again, scampered away after his victim screamed.

Cops soon connected the would-be assailant to a Jan. 26 attack near the corner of Fulton and Cumberland streets, where he grabbed a 24-year-old woman, threw her against a fence and attempted to remove her underwear.

“Don’t fight it,” the man said as he wrestled with his victim — a fight he quickly abandoned after a witness saw what was happening and yelled for help, police said.

Investigators are distributing a sketch of the alleged attacker, who is approximately 6-foot tall and between ages 30 and 35, throughout the borough this week.
