A thief broke into the Family Supermarket on Dwight Street on Aug. 21, taking $7,500.

The crook opened two safes hidden in the store between Walcott and Dikeman streets sometime after 8 pm.

Goodbye, Mr. Chips

A thief broke into a Frito Lay truck during on Aug. 26 on Lorraine Street, taking an undisclosed amount of snack foods.

The chip company employee parked the truck between Columbia and Hicks streets at 7:15 am and returned 10 minutes later to learn that someone had snapped the lock.
