Big top fun and games

The circus is coming to town.

Cole Bros. Circus of the Stars is headed to Aviator Sports for a week-long engagement beginning July 28, giving Brooklyn families to enjoy a memorable day at the circus.

The Big Top tent will feature elephants, aerial daredevils, acrobats, clowns, camels, gyro wheel gymnastics and gravity defying motorcyclists who spin within the Globe of Death.

This year's performance also features some renowned circus personalities. The internationally acclaimed Jose Kellerman Bermudez enters Center Ring as Captain of Comedic Capers on a mission to foil the formality of the Ringmaster, Chris Connors. At the finale of the show, Bermudez returns as “Super Kellan,” the human missile projected from the barrel of the World’s Largest Cannon in fearless flight across the Big Top.

Hoisted high atop the hippodrome track by her raven locks, Petya Milanova gracefully combines juggling and gymnastics in an edge-of-your-seat aerial routine.

Carolyn Rice’s old-fashioned “Dog and Pony Show” shows off perky pooches as they vie for a perch on pony-back. Not to be outdone, Rice’s husband Mike directs a quartet of camels, upstaged only when a trio of the biggest stars in show business – the elephants – take over the spotlight.

Filled with thrills of springboard acrobats, triple-somersaulting and heel-catching aerialists, and the joy of clowns and animals, the two-hour performance of Cole Bros. Circus of the Stars provides enormous entertainment at an affordable, family-friendly price.

The circus runs from July 28 to August 3 at Aviator Sports, located at Floyd Bennett Field. Tickets are $12 and are available in advance at www.tickets.com or by calling 1-888-332-5200.
