Big win in Tucson!

The Kingsborough Community College Women Tennis Team won the Division III Junior College Championships in Tucson, Arizona. The community college, 2001 Oriental Boulevard in the Manhattan Beach section of Brooklyn, placed players in all nine final flights and won six of the final matches.

Kingsborough, lead by the number one player in the country, Erina Kikuchi, as she won her final 6:0, 6:1, earning All American honors, outscored second place Broome Community College by 13 points.

Kikuchi combined with Nina Mayevski, who won her second singles match, 6:2, 6:1, and doubles match with Kikuchi, 6:0, 6:2. Both earned first team All America honors in doubles and in singles.

Third singles was won by Epaski Yushkov 6:0, 6:0, earning first team All American honors. Epaski combined with Herschella Reed to win second doubles 6:2, 6:2, and earned first team All America honors in doubles.

Reed received second team All America honors in fourth singles. Fifth singles Arielle Kamin received second team All America honors, combined with Taylor Manson, who received second team in All America honors in the third doubles.

Manson received first team All America honors as she won six singles. Nadejda Brook was the team’s first substitution.
