Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz’s Brooklyn Tourism office is partnering with “US Airways Magazine” to provide guidance for a 25-page profile on the borough, to run in the award-winning in flight publication of US Airways, which reaches more than five million affluent business and leisure travelers each month.

The vibrant editorial package will offer a comprehensive look at the economic drivers that shape Brooklyn’s landscape, from world-class educational and healthcare institutions to diverse and hip dining and shopping establishments to the cultural arts and tourism attractions in all of Brooklyn’s exciting neighborhoods.

The borough president has assembled a group of Brooklyn business and cultural leaders and luminaries to serve as an advisory board, including stakeholders such as the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Brooklyn Partnership, as well as members of the Brooklyn Tourism Advisory Board, including BAM’s Karen Brooks Hopkins, Heart of Brooklyn’s Ellen Salpeter, the NY Aquarium’s Cynthia Reich, and Weeksville’s Pamela Green.

This group will offer the magazine’s editorial staff their unique insights into the secrets of Brooklyn’s success, and help with accessing borough-wide input.

“We always knew Brooklyn was a high-flier, but this will literally take our borough’s global fame into the stratosphere,” said Markowitz. “Brooklyn, which is now both proud home and proud ‘host’ to ‘everyone from everywhere’ is thrilled to be identified as a destination of choice for the international jet-set. Come fly with us.”

All are welcome to suggest ideas for inclusion in the profile. Ideas should be sent to Carolyn Greer at cgreer@brooklynbp.nyc.gov.
