They tooted their own horns — and rightfully so.
Dressed in yellow and black uniforms with matching feather-plumed helmets, the Fighting Falcons Marching Band from PS 113 in Fort Greene made musical magic as it marched to the New York Aquarium in Coney Island, joining students from across the city for the Brooklyn’s Children’s Day Parade May 16.
The group, led by a distinguished roster of local notables as grand marshals, and including students from PS 206 in Gravesend, PS 225 in Brighton Beach and Manhattan’s Mott Hall School, drew cheers and claps from passersby who stopped to watch the colorful spectacle unfold along the Riegelmann Boardwalk.
Students stopped on the famed walkway to cheer, play music, dance and perform other crowd-pleasing spectacles as part of the Department of Education’s salute to public schools.
