The Brooklyn Real Estate Roundtable will hold its second quarterly luncheon for 2008, May 6 at the Brooklyn Historical Society, 128 Pierrepont Street at Clinton Street, in Brooklyn Heights. A networking reception will begin at 12 p.m. and the luncheon and a program featuring four speakers will begin at 12:30 p.m.
The following real estate professionals will be presenting at the luncheon:
Bruce Federman, principal of Industry City Associates, will discuss the Bush Terminal, which consists of 6 million square feet of multi-story warehouses in Sunset Park and is described as the world’s largest multi-tenant industrial facility.
Perry Finkelman, managing director of the American Development Group, will introduce L Lofts, a new construction condominium project in Bushwick; The Sochi, a 22-story new construction condominium project in Brighten Beach; and Automation Parking, the first fully automated parking garage in New York City.
MaryAnne Gilmartin, executive vice president of Forest City Ratner Companies, will discuss Forest City’s current and upcoming Brooklyn projects.
Douglas Steiner, chairman of Steiner Studios, will introduce 80 Metropolitan, a new construction condominium in Williamsburg, and also discuss the business of running Steiner Studios, the film and TV production facility in the Brooklyn Navy Yard.
Leaders of Brooklyn’s real estate community launched the luncheon series in 2007 to hold timely and substantive discussions about issues affecting the borough’s booming real estate market. More than 100 real estate professionals attend each luncheon. The May program is being sponsored by Herman Miller and, as with all the quarterly luncheons, the proceeds will be donated to the Brooklyn Historical Society.
Additional luncheons in 2008 are scheduled for August 5 and November 4 and will address brownfield developments, LEED projects, new projects in downtown Brooklyn and throughout the borough, the impact of 421-a changes, and other relevant topics.
