BOOZIN’! Thieves steal the spirit from an Atlantic Avenue bar

Thieves stole dozens of bottles of booze from an Atlantic Avenue nightclub’s basement on April 24.

The culprits, recorded on security cameras at 1:20 pm, went to great lengths for a drink.

Their afternoon break-in made sense, given that the late-night club, Khrome Lounge, would not open for hours.

According to police, the two thieves entered the basement through the neighboring apartment building, which shares the subterranean space with the bar, between Waverly and Washington avenues. That was the easy part, because it appears they had keys to the apartment building.

Once inside, the physical labor began, but the crooks eventually rewarded themselves with VIP treatment.

They loosened or possibly even cut the metal bolts on the downstairs gate that separates the residential section of the basement from the nightclub’s, allowing them to stock up on dozens of bottles of champagne and hard liquor.

Then came the thirst-quenching or perhaps intoxicating satisfaction of a successful crime.
