Stickup slip-up
Someone tried to rob a Myrtle Avenue bank on Dec. 12, but took off without getting any cash, cops said.
A teller said the crook came into the bank between Clinton and Waverly avenues at 2:10 pm, and slipped her a note that read, “Give me $1,000 I have a weapon.”
The teller stepped away from her window, and the bandit ran off, officers stated.
Emergency exit
A gunman held up a teen inside the Lafayette Avenue subway station on Dec. 9, according to police.
The 17-year-old victim said he got off of a Brooklyn-bound C train at 8:35 am, and that the fiend followed. The mugger stopped him as he was heading up the stairs, flashed him a handgun tucked into his waistband, and demanded his cellphone, a report states.
The teen gave over the phone but the mugger followed him out of the exit near Fulton Street and S. Portland Avenue, then down the street, according to officers.
The victim handed over $180 in cash and both of them re-entered the train station, at which point the suspect took off, law enforcement officials recounted.
Hack attack
Cops cuffed two teens and are looking for two more who they say beat up a cab driver in Fort Greene on Dec. 13 and stole his jacket and cash.
The 57-year-old hack said he was dropping off the quartet at 3:40 am near the corner of Park Avenue and Adelphi Street when they attacked him.
The teens punched the driver in the face, removed his jacket, and took $150 in cash, according to a police report. Officers arrived and arrested a 16-year-old and 17-year-old for the alleged attack, but two others got away, NYPD officials said.
Special delivery
A pair of toughs roughed up a delivery guy in front of a Monument Walk building on Dec. 13, according to the authorities.
The 33-year-old food runner said he was making a delivery to the building between Park and Myrtle avenues at 7:28 pm, and that he called his customers to have them come outside once he arrived.
A lout approached him and asked how much the food cost, and as the delivery guy showed him a receipt a second scoundrel came up from behind and tried to tackle him, cops said.
The victim fought the guy off as he was trying to steal the food, and both of the culprits fled, police said.
Bad breakup
Police arrested a man who they say knocked out a 61-year-old for interfering in an argument on the corner of Carlton and Lafayette avenues on Dec. 13.
The victim said he was trying to break up a fight between a coworker and her friend at 12:02 am when the friend punched him in the face.
He fell to the ground and the suspect stomped on his chest and face, causing him to lose consciousness, police said.
Officers arrived and arrested the 41-year-old for the crime, finding him a block away at Adelphi Street and Greene Avenue, they reported.
Caught in act
Officers arrested a man on Cumberland Walk who they say tried to steal a car on Dec. 14, after the owner caught him red-handed.
The 34-year-old victim reported that he saw someone rifling around in his car between Park and Myrtle avenues at 9 pm.
He approached and asked the guy what he was doing and the suspect told him it was a friend’s car, the police report states.
The car owner then hauled the suspect out of the vehicle, but the suspect punched him and cut him on the lip with a razor blade, law enforcement officials said.
Cops arrived and cuffed the 31-year-old minutes later, they said.
Myrtle burgle
A lithe lowlife stole jewelry and a computer from a Myrtle Avenue apartment on Dec. 9 after entering through a fire escape window, cops said.
A 25-year-old resident of the apartment said she left the building between Vanderbilt and Clinton avenues at 9 am and did not return until 7:45 that evening. When she arrived she found three necklaces and a computer missing, officers stated.
Lush worker
Some careful crooks emptied the pockets of a man sleeping on the Q train on Dec. 13, according to police.
The groggy 43-year-old straphanger said he was drinking at a bar in the Midtown section of Manhattan and boarded a Brooklyn-bound Q train at 11:30 pm on Dec. 12.
He fell asleep, and did not wake up until the train was heading back toward Manhattan, then exited at the Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center station, the authorities reported.
He discovered that his wallet, cellphone, and bottle of anxiety pills were all missing from his pockets, cops recounted. The same thing has happened to the victim four times since 2007, officers added.
