Brigands lure men to ambush with classifieds ad

Bad date

Two blade-toting brigands robbed two men inside an Avenue V housing complex in separate instances on Sept. 29 and Oct. 1, by luring their victims into an apparent ambush with an ad posted by a “woman” on a classifieds website.

The victim told police that he arrived for the meetup on the 13th floor of the building between W. 12th and W. 13th streets at 9:30 pm, where he found two hulking goons in lieu of the dame. The crooks pulled a knife on him, uttered a few chilling threats, and then removed his iPhone 6 and $120, cops said.

In the second instance, the crooks lured in a 60-year-old man at the same address, using the same ad and attacking him as well. In that case, the thieves made off with $640, a cellphone, and jewelry, according to police.

A knife guy

A knife-wielding thief robbed a cab driver from the back of his taxi on Avenue V on Sept. 29.

The victim told police that he picked up the suspect at 58th Street and Fourth Avenue, before arriving at his destination near W. 12th Street at 2:40 am. That’s when the crook sprang a knife on him, and grabbed $125, a cellphone, and credit cards from the cabby before fleeing, cops said.

Handgun

Cops busted three men who they say robbed a man of his bike and wallet outside of a Mermaid Avenue eatery on Sept. 30, after pretending to have a gun.

The victim told police that he was inside the restaurant between W. 15th Street and Stillwell Avenue at 10:30 pm when the suspects, along with another individual who’s still on the lam, began harassing him.

When the victim eventually left the diner, the suspects followed him and pressed what he assumed was a pistol the back of his head, according to police. It was only after the suspects made off with his bike and wallet that the victim realized he’d been robbed at finger point, cops said.

Playground bully

A gun-wielding reprobate robbed a woman inside a W. 33rd Street playground on Oct. 4.

The victim told police that she was inside the park between Neptune and Bay View avenues at 11:40 am when the knave pressed a pistol to the back of her head and demanded her cellphone, bookbag, and even her sneakers.

Jackpot

Two burglars ransacked and looted a Harway Avenue bodega on Sept. 27.

Surveillance footage inside the store between Bay 50th Street and Stillwell Avenue shows the two crooks enter at 10:35 pm after breaking open a padlock securing the business’s pull-down gate. The thieves grabbed $200, cigarettes, and lottery tickets from behind the counter, cops said.

Home invasion

A burglar stole into a woman’s Brighton 12th Street apartment on Sept. 29, and swiped her wallet.

The victim told police that she returned to her apartment between Corbin Place and Hampton Avenue after taking out the trash at around 6:45 pm, and then retired to her bedroom.

However, she was lured back out after hearing a strange noise, when she discovered a thief lurking in living room, according to police.

The man, upon seeing her, grabbed up her wallet from a nearby coffee table, ran out of her apartment, and then fled down a back alley, cops said.

The last waltz

A burglar looted a Brighton Beach Avenue dance studio on Sept. 30, taking electronics.

The victim told police that the suspect entered the school between Brighton Fourth and Brighton Fifth streets at 9 pm, breaking open the door in order to provide access to the snazzy gadgets.

Surf Avenue snatcher

A purse snatcher robbed a woman on Surf Avenue on Oct. 4.

The victim told police that she was near W. 19th Street at 2:30 pm when the crook ambushed her from behind, grabbed her satchel, and ran.

Game over

A corrupt gamer ransacked a man’s W. 16th Street apartment on Oct. 4, taking his Xbox and cable box.

The victim told police that the crook entered his apartment near Stillwell Avenue at 3 pm and grabbed his gaming console and cable box.
